Why choose Jack

Safe, certified work

  • Every job designed and installed to BS 7671, the 18th Edition wiring regulations.
  • You get the right certificate or report for your job, from an EIC for new work to a full EICR.

Why my quotes may not be the cheapest

I use premium branded materials, such as LSF (low smoke and fume) cable, metal back boxes and RCBO protection, and consumer unit upgrades are always all-RCBO boards with surge protection (SPD). On every job I ask myself: “Would I want that going into my own house?” My prices may be slightly higher than some, but I never cut corners.

Reviews

What customers say

Google review

“Excellent service from Jack and Harvey at Greenhough Electrical Services today. They replaced our ancient fuse box, installed an isolator switch and fitted an outside plug socket for us. The whole experience was brilliant from start to finish. Both were professional, honest and clearly take real pride in their work. Everything was completed to a very high standard and they left everything incredibly tidy afterwards, which was really appreciated. Their pricing was also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work and service provided. It’s not always easy finding tradespeople you can fully trust, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Greenhough Electrical Services to anyone. We’ll definitely be using Jack and Harvey again for more work in the future.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is an EICR and do I need one?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report is a safety inspection of your existing wiring. Landlords in England need one at least every 5 years. For homeowners it’s recommended every 10 years, and it’s well worth doing when buying or selling a home.

What kind of consumer unit do you fit?

Only all-RCBO consumer units with surge protection (SPD). With an RCBO on every circuit, a fault on one circuit trips just that circuit rather than half the house, and the SPD helps protect your home from voltage surges.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. You’ll get the appropriate certificate or report for your job, for example an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) for new installation work, or a full report for an EICR.

How is notifiable work signed off?

Some electrical work, such as replacing a consumer unit or adding a new circuit, is notifiable under the Building Regulations. I use a registered third-party certifier to inspect and sign off this work, and you’ll receive the Building Regulations compliance certificate for your records.

Which areas do you cover?

I’m based in Hilton (DE65) and cover Burton upon Trent, Derby, Uttoxeter and nearby villages such as Etwall, Egginton, Willington, Repton, Mickleover and Tutbury. If you’re nearby and not listed, just ask.

Who will do the work?

Me. Greenhough Electrical Services is a sole trader business, so you’ll deal with Jack directly from start to finish.

How soon can you do the job?

For an EICR, an EV charger install or a general job, I can usually get to you within a couple of weeks. If it’s urgent, give me a call and I’ll let you know if I can fit you in sooner.

Do you do emergency call-outs?

Yes, I offer 24/7 emergency call-outs. If you’ve lost power or something’s unsafe, call me on 07468 456088 rather than using the form.

Are you insured?

Yes. I have £1 million public liability insurance.

How do I get a quote?

Call or WhatsApp 07468 456088, or fill in the quote form. Photos of the job help me give you an accurate price.
