Who I am

I’m Jack Greenhough, a sole trader trading as Greenhough Electrical Services, based in Hilton, Derbyshire. I’m responsible for looking after your details.

What I collect

When you fill in the quote form, I collect:

• your name, phone number and email address
• your postcode
• details of the job, including the type of work and anything you tell me about it
• any photos you choose to attach

Why I use it

I use your details to reply to your enquiry, give you a quote and, if you go ahead, carry out the job.

The law lets me do this because it’s needed to take steps you’ve asked for before we enter into a contract, and because I have a legitimate interest in running my business and dealing with enquiries properly.

If you become a customer, some records (such as invoices and electrical certificates) are kept because the law requires it, for example for HMRC and Building Regulations.

Where it’s kept

The website’s form is run by Netlify, which is based in the USA. Netlify receives and stores what you send, and may process it outside the UK with appropriate safeguards in place. I also keep your details in my email and business records.

Who I share it with

To run my business I use trusted providers who handle your details for me: Netlify (website form), Google (email and diary) and QuickBooks (quotes and invoices).

For notifiable electrical work, I share the address and job details with a registered third-party certifier so it can be signed off under the Building Regulations.

If you message me on WhatsApp, WhatsApp (Meta) also processes your messages under its own privacy policy.

I don’t sell your details or share them for marketing.

How long I keep it

• If your enquiry doesn’t go ahead, I delete your details after 12 months.
• If you become a customer, I keep job records, invoices and certificates for at least 6 years after the work. Certificates for new installations may be kept longer, for up to 15 years, in case questions come up about the work later.

Cookies

This website doesn’t use cookies to track you.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

• give you a copy of the details I hold about you
• correct anything that’s wrong
• delete your details
• limit how I use your details
• stop using your details, if you object to how I’m using them
• get your details in a format you can take elsewhere

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your details, please tell me first and I’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and let you know the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commission at ico.org.uk.
